⚔️ Act I – The Temptation Begins

Three mysterious witches tell Macbeth, a brave Scottish general, that he will one day become king. This sparks a dangerous ambition in him. Encouraged by his wife, Lady Macbeth, he begins to consider murder as a shortcut to the crown.

 

👑 Act II – The Murder of a King
 

Macbeth kills King Duncan in his sleep and frames the guards. Now king himself, Macbeth is shaken by guilt, but hides it. Lady Macbeth puts on a strong front to protect them both.
 

🕵️ Act III – Paranoia and More Blood
 

Afraid of losing his crown, Macbeth hires killers to murder Banquo (his friend) and Banquo’s son, Fleance, because the witches said Banquo’s descendants would be kings. Banquo dies, but Fleance escapes. Macbeth begins to lose control — haunted by visions and fear.
 

🩸 Act IV – The Witches’ New Prophecies
 

Macbeth returns to the witches. They warn him to beware Macduff, and say he cannot be harmed by anyone “born of a woman.” They also say he’s safe until “Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane.” Feeling invincible, Macbeth orders more murders. Macduff’s family is killed.
 

⚰️ Act V – Fall of the Tyrant

Lady Macbeth, wracked with guilt, loses her mind and dies. Macduff and Malcolm (Duncan’s son) lead an army against Macbeth. The soldiers cut branches from Birnam Wood to hide their numbers — fulfilling the prophecy. In battle, Macduff reveals he was born via C-section (not “born of a woman”) and kills Macbeth. Malcolm becomes king.
