Round 4:(2 sc, inc) repeat around. (24)

Round 5:Sc in each stitch around. (24)

You now have a flat circular base.


Part 2: Body of the Bag

Rounds 6–10:Sc in each stitch around. (24)

This forms the walls of the mini bag.

Fasten off and weave in ends.


Part 3: Bag Flap

The flap is worked in rows.

Row 1:Attach yarn to one side at the top of the bag.Ch 1, sc in the next 12 sts. Turn. (12)

Row 2:Ch 1, (1 sc, dec) repeat across. Turn. (8)

Row 3:Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn. (8)

Row 4:Ch 1, dec across. (4)

Row 5:Ch 1, dec across. (2)

Row 6:Ch 1, dec across. (1)

Ch 4 and slip stitch to accomodate the button.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

You now have a tapered flap shape.


Part 4: Bag Strap

  1. Ch 30 (or adjust length as needed)

  2. Attach each end of the chain to opposite top edges of the bag using slip stitches. I used brown yarn here.

  3. Fasten off and weave in ends
